Personalise your own High Tea with these special treats that are sure to impress that special lady in the comfort of your home – Just add her favourite cuppa and a cucumber sandwich or two!
Red Wine Sangria | A Mother’s Day Cocktail
Ahhh Sangria... The mere mention conjures up images of family and friends, gathered to enjoy great food, good company and a tasty concoction. It’s bright, fruity with just the right amount of sweetness and perfect for a Sunday Mother’s day brunch!
Ingredients
1 bottle of red wine
1/3-cup brandy
¼ Cointreau
1 large orange cut into rounds and halved
1 large lemon cut into rounds and halved
2 cups strawberry kiwi juice
½ cup strawberry slices
1 cup of soda water
Method
Pour all ingredients into a large jug and stir well
Fill glasses with ice and pour in sangria mix
Top with soda water and enjoy!

A twist on Mum’s favourite. Red Wine Chocolate Cake
What’s not to love about chocolate cake? Especially one full of the aromatic flavour of red wine. Rich and moist this red wine chocolate cake is irresistible.
Ingredients
1 ½ cups plain flour
¾ cup unsweetened cocoa-powder
1tsp baking soda
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. ground cinnamon
1 cup of softened butter
1 ¼-granulated sugar
½ cup dark brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extra
1-¼ cups dry red wine
Method
Preheat oven to 180C degrees and grease a 12-cup bundt pan. Set aside
In a medium bowl sift flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon together
Beat together butter and sugar on medium-high for 3-4 minutes until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs on at a time until combined. Add in vanilla extract.
On low speed, fold in flour mixture and red wine, alternating with additions
Pour into prepared pan and bake for 45 minutes or if skewer inserted comes out clean.
Leave to cool entirely and serve

Champagne Macaroons to tingle Mum’s tastebuds
We know that special lady loves her champagne and macaroons but imagine combining the two? Blow Mum away with these champagne infused macaroons that are the perfect Mother’s day treat. Pair with her favourite cup of tea to end her lovely day!
Ingredients
7 eggwhites
50g caster sugar
1sp lemon juice
450g icing sugar
250g almond meal
1 pinch of salt
Natural food colour of your choice (gold or pink would be perfect!)
For the Filling
250ml of Good champagne
500g of quality white chocolate
100g of light cream
Method
In a bowl, whisk the eggwhite with the sugar, salt and lemon juice and preferred food colouring until hard peak.
Sift icing sugar and almond meal together and fold through eggwhite mixture until shiny
Pour some mix in a piping bag that has a round nozzle. On baking paper, pipe in a downward motion forming 3-4cm balls. Tap the tray gently on your bench, not too much (or will spread). Leave tray on the side at room temperature for half an hour.
Cook them at 150 degrees Celsius for 12 min
For the filling
Bring the Champagne with the cream to the boil. Melt the chocolate separately
Combine filling ingredients together to get a jam like consistency.
And finally whisk all ingredients together until you get a jam like consistency.
Let the mixture cool and pipe the filling onto one side of a shell and press another gently on top of the filling.
