Halloween Tricks and Treats for Your Monster Ball

Halloween Tricks and Treats for Your Monster Ball

With Halloween creeping up, it’s the perfect time to plan a monster mash of a party for all the friends and fiends who dare summon the spirits. Beware, though, that while werewolves prowl and vampires roam, nothing will be scarier for a host on All Hallow’s Eve than finding yourself a few decorations short of a party to remember! But, with Cellarbrations at your side, there’s nothing to fear. Follow these tricks for some smashing treats and you’ll have wicked witches flying in from all directions to see what’s stirring.

Life Source

Start your night with something devilishly delicious: a mock syringe filled with the bloodiest of Bloody Marys. You can pick up these toy syringes at most Halloween stores, and this unique presentation will definitely give your guests something to talk about.

Here’s our favourite Bloody Mary recipe:

  • 3 parts vodka (try Absolut)
  • 6 parts tomato juice
  • 1 part lemon juice
  • 2-3 dashes of Worcestershire/Tabasco sauce
  • A dash of pepper
  • Ice cubes

Pour spices and sauce into a glass, followed by vodka and ice. Stir gently, then fill the syringe straight from the glass.

Pumpkin Beer Cooler

After the kick of a (literal) shot of Bloody Mary, it’s time to cool down with a coldie—kept waiting on ice. For a wicked twist, keep your beers sticking out of a creepily carved pumpkin that you’ve scooped the insides out of and filled with ice. If you’re looking for a way to enhance the eeriness of your party, this one’s a ‘no-brainer’.

One Eye Open

Your sweet-toothed friends will be eyeing your espresso martinis, but they won’t be expecting to see the martinis staring back! While traditional espresso martinis are garnished with coffee beans, why not spook your guests by floating gummy eyeballs in their drink. Gummy eyeballs can be found at most Halloween stores or lolly shops, and this little tweak will keep your guests in the spooky spirit all night long.

Creepy Crawlers

Every Aussie knows that with warmer weather comes more creepy crawly sightings—but the last thing your friends will be expecting is to find one of these critters in their drink. Prepare for blood-curdling screams when unsuspecting guests find (plastic) insects cryogenically frozen in their ice cubes.

The Bitter End

No doubt the Bloody Mary syringes you administered earlier have given people a thirst for the red stuff. If you truly want to knock the living socks off your guests, why not create a DIY Bloody Mary Bar, where vampires and vampiresses can conjure up their nightmare cocktail. Include a spread of garnishes that include witch fingers (baby pickles), olive eyeballs, and ‘human flesh’ (sizzled bacon strips).
